Back in the day, surf shops were really surf shops. Like so many others in the industry, Greek's stock-in-trade was selling boards. Not a stitch of clothing or aftermarket crap to be found in this late '60's pic of his retail space..


And who could forget this epic 1969 image, when some guy in a '55 Chevy drove through the shop's front window ???


Greek also launched one of the earliest salvos of the U.S. shortboard era with this ad. The model lineup was all longboards, except "The Outlaw," which was a short, stubby V bottom...


And their Maui Model pintail longboard pre-dated the mainstream's focus on the outer islands by a couple of years, at least. Bitchin' glass-on high aspect fin...
