I remember Phil Edwards telling an interviewer in a mag that Dora couldn't go left. I guess he was wrong. He He He.
More interesting to me than seeing a familiar rider reversed is seeing familiar waves reversed- underlines the uniqueness of each spot and evokes a site-specific somatic/mental association I didn't know I felt.
Interesting insights in this game, Paul.
Try surfing switch stance (for me that's regular foot). You end up looking at different parts of the wave as you try to judge it. It opens up some interesting visual approaches and keeps your surfing fresh. Hint: switch where the wave is steep, switching on the shoulder isn't as successful.

I sometimes feel the reversed images are disturbing. I guess they undermine a lot of long-held, faith-based beliefs I didn't l know I had.
And yes, the surf spots seen backwards are interesting as well.
