From Jason

Hi Paul,

I got lucky in a trade and ended up with 004 and my friend found 003. That is incredible to me.
Almost impossible to find one of these old ones but then to have a friend find the number before mine? Wild.

003 is totally cooked. Wall rider now.
004 is in great condition, some delam professionally repaired. Malibu rider.

Recently discovered 002, or at least the order for it.

This is all a bit nerdy I admit, but I think it is pretty cool.

Best,
Jason

Good one Jason!

I bought PG 004 from Oxnard back yard reseller ChubbySurf in 2003, he found it in Ventura Pawn shop. Deck delam and not one of the 7-8 rail dings had been repaired. I fixed all the dings and did the unprofessional hexagonal Qcell patch and delam repair. Surfed it off an on for years until delammed again and was afraid it would snap. Love that board, really light and quick, stoked for you. Got a lot of waves on offshore days at Hobos when others could not get in.

Funny thing is think I probably saw that board on the rack in Spence's Our Blue Planet shop about 1996. Paul was there and had a half dozen hulls available on the rack. I didn't understand them yet and ordered a thruster from Spence. Choices like that delayed my surfing progression for sure.

BTW Jason, I converted our trade to a lovely 8'0 Spence hull made in 2009 for Michael Solomon. Pleased to have a nice hull to ride again and finding a little more foam is helpful too at age 56.

Thanks for the info Dan! Very cool to read.
003 was found by Dirk Knibbe in a backyard bush near Hammonds rotting away.
