Joey was held in awe by some of us in the South Bay. Especially the younger more open-minded surfers. A woman who surfed and worked in surf shops! (I think she shaped a few boards at Jacobs, too). I always wished my surfing could flow like that. She had an inner strength and wave knowledge like Nuuhiwa. A humble and truly inspiring person! Speedshaper
